IS IT CLINICALLY PROVEN FOR CHILDREN?
Yes. In a randomised study in The Gambia led by Prof Stephen Allen, ENTEROSGEL was mixed straight into oral rehydration solution for 50 children aged 6–59 months. Diarrhoea ended in about half the time, and it was well tolerated.

Most anti-diarrhoea tablets aren’t suitable for young children, and they work by slowing the bowel down. ENTEROSGEL Kids works differently: the gel binds what’s irritating your child’s gut and carries it out naturally.

Is ENTEROSGEL Kids safe for babies?
Yes, it is suitable from birth. It works physically in the gut and is not absorbed into the blood. It contains only an organic mineral and purified water.
How quickly does it work?
In a randomised study in young children, diarrhoea ended in about half the time: around 20 hours with ENTEROSGEL plus standard care, versus 39 hours with standard care alone.
My child is a fussy eater. Will they take it?
Usually, yes. It is tasteless and odourless. Stir the dose into water or their rehydration drink.
Can I mix it with oral rehydration solution (ORS)?
Yes. In the children’s study it was mixed straight into ORS. Keep giving fluids while your child has diarrhoea.
Can it be used alongside antibiotics?
Yes. ENTEROSGEL can be used alongside antibiotics. Leave at least 2 hours between ENTEROSGEL and other medicines.
Is Kids 0+ different from the adult tube?
No. It is the same drug-free gel in a smaller 90 g tube, sized for children’s doses.
When should I see a doctor?
See a doctor if your child shows signs of dehydration, has blood in their stool, a high temperature, or diarrhoea lasting more than 7 days.
Who should not use it?
Do not use ENTEROSGEL with intestinal atony or intestinal blockage, or with modified-release medicines. Always read the instructions for use.
