What Are The Ingredients Of Enterosgel?

Enterosgel is composed of an organic mineral and water (70% Polymethilsiloxane and 30% Purified water). Enterosgel does not contain substances that can cause allergic or toxic reactions. It is free from preservatives, gluten, lactose, sugar, flavours or colouring.

What Are Contraindications For Taking Enterosgel?

Do not use Enterosgel if you are currently taking modified-released orally administrated medications, or if you have intestinal atony (severe constipation due to bowel obstruction) or intestinal blockage.

How To Use Enterosgel?

Mix a dose of Enterosgel (a teaspoon or a table spoon depending on the age and indication) in a glass of water and take 2 hours before or after a meal or taking medications.

Do I Need To Store Enterosgel In The Fridge?

No, Enterosgel is composed of organic mineral and doesn’t contain any ingredients of animal or
plant origin. For this reason, Enterosgel doesn’t need any preservatives and should not be stored in
the fridge but between 4-30°C and out of direct sunlight.

What Is The Right Dosage Of Enterosgel For Treatment Of IBS Diarrhoea?

During treatment of IBS diarrhoea you may adjust your dosage to suit your stool consistency and bowel movements. You can increase treatment to double dose up to 3 times a day if your stool is loose, or reduce to a single dose once a day if your stool is normal. Maximum 6 doses per day.

How Many Times A Day Can I Take Enterosgel And What Is The Dosage?

For children 1-6 years old 1 teaspoon or 1/3 of a sachet diluted in 50-100ml of water 3 times a day
For children 7-14 years old 2 teaspoons or 2/3 of a sachet diluted in 50-100 ml of water 3 times a day
For children 15+ and adults
1-1.5 table spoon or 1-1.5 sachet diluted in 200ml of water 3 times a day.

Possible Side Effects Of Enterosgel?

Enterosgel is a safe and drug free treatment with brilliant safety history over 30 years and no reports of adverse events. There are no systemic side effects from taking Enterosgel. Very rare possible side effects are constipation or nausea, which can be also due to the underlining condition (e.g. IBS, stomach or vomiting bugs). It is important to take plenty of fluids during treatment of diarrhoea. During treatment of chronic IBS diarrhoea stop taking Enterosgel if you do not have bowel movement for 1-2 days and increase intake of water and continue the treatment after the next bowel movement.

How is Enterosgel Different From Other Silica Based Intestinal Adsorbents?

There are several different intestinal adsorbents based on the natural silica or clay. Enterosgel is
based on pure organic mineral called methylsilicic acid. Enterosgel does not contain any
preservatives and additives, which could cause allergic or toxic reactions. Enterosgel has an
extensive body of post-marketing clinical studies from early markets and an excellent safety profile

Can Enterosgel Be Used Alongside Medications?

Enterosgel does not contain any active pharmaceutical ingredients and can be used alongside other treatments. It is recommended to take Enterosgel 2 hours before or after taking other medications. However, do not take Enterosgel if you are currently taking modified-released orally administrated medications.

Can Enterosgel Be Taken Long-Term?

Enterosgel can be taken long-term, because it is not a medicine and not absorbed into the body. It is completely excreted after passing through the gut. Enterosgel does not cause any systemic side effects. Enterosgel can be taken for 21 days continuously followed by a short break then you can continue for another 21 days.

How To Treat Acute Diarrhoea With Enterosgel?

In the beginning of the treatment on Day1 you can double the first dose and then continue with the single dose after each bowel movement from 3 to 6 times a day. Maximum 8 doses on the first day. Continue taking Enterosgel one to three times a day during the following 3-4 days.

Can Enterosgel Be Taken By Children?

Yes, Enterosgel is safe for children and is well-tolerated. Enterosgel has an excellent tolerability and safety record during 30 years. There have been no reports of adverse side effects. The studies with children have shown the effectiveness and safety of the product. Enterosgel is well-tolerated by children.
For children 1-3 years old it is advisable to consult a doctor prior to use of Enterosgel.

Can Enterosgel Be Taken During Pregnancy And While Breastfeeding?

Yes, Enterosgel is a drug-free mineral gel, which is not absorbed into the body and doesn’t contain any preservatives, so Enterosgel is suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is always important to consult with your GP or midwife if you are unwell during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Can I Take Enterosgel If I Have IBS And Food Allergy Or Food Intolerance?

Often patients with IBS also suffer from food allergy or food intolerance. Enterosgel is non-allergenic, free from preservatives, gluten, sugar and any additives! Enterosgel can be used to treat diarrhoea in patients with IBS and food allergy or food intolerance.

Can I Take Enterosgel If I Am Diagnosed With Coeliac And Suffer From Diarrhoea And Bloating?

Enterosgel is suitable for people with coeliac disease. Enterosgel does not treat the coeliac disease itself. In case of diarrhoea Enterosgel reduces the duration of diarrhoea and frequency of stools in a drug free way. Enterosgel also adsorbs substances that can lead to the build-up of gases and can relieve bloating after eating.

What Are The Total Number Of Patients Treated With Enterosgel?

Enterosgel was developed in 1980-s and has been available as an over-the-counter treatment since 1996 in other countries. Since then millions of patients have been using Enterosgel.
100 doses of Enterosgel per second are taken in the world. 7.5 million tubes were sold last year in Europe. During 30 years there have been no reported incidences of overdose, systemic side effects or adverse reactions related to use of Enterosgel.

Can Enterosgel Be Taken By People With Chronic Gastrointestinal Disorders?
