‘I have always suffered from problems with loose stools. I lived with them, but in September 2014 they started to get worse. Night times were difficult and I had trouble sleeping because of the discomfort. I suffered from diarrhoea and it made me very self-conscious.
‘In addition I was really struggling with a set of various gastric symptoms, like bloating, heartburn, none of which seemed to show any sign of improving. I lost 10kg weight, leaving me with low energy and significantly reduced quality of life. My GP said that the usual prescription for my symptoms was to take a PPI and anti inflammatories, I was reluctant to take these because of side effects.
‘It took nearly 2 years and many tests privately and via the NHS to determine my diagnosis of IBS-D and it has been quite a trial to find strategies that work for me.
‘During this time I read about Enterosgel on a GI support forum, I started taking it three to four times a day in March 2015. Within a week I started to get less gastric discomfort and as a result I was sleeping better at night. In addition the Enterosgel caused my stools to be more formed and slowed down transit time, enabling more nutrients to be absorbed as well as reducing inflammation in my large intestine.
‘This was confirmed by my calprotectin levels which were over 60 In March, (just before I started taking Enterosgel), by May they were down to 53 and in June they were at 15 which is pretty much normal. Overall my quality of life is hugely improved and with the help of Enterosgel I am managing my symptoms quite well. I shared my discovery of this helpful product with my GP who is supportive of me continuing to use it.
My appointment to see a gastroenterologist came through for June 2015, followed by a gastroscopy in August 2015, the gastroscopy also confirmed that there was currently no inflammation in the stomach, this was consistent with my stomach related symptoms having improved.
‘I have no doubt that Enterosgel has played a significant role in my improvements. I feel that it’s really important that other patients are made aware of Enterosgel, as I believe it is an effective treatment option for sensitive people like me, who are unable to tolerate pharmaceutical interventions, and who prefer to use drug-free treatments which work in harmony with the body’s own healing process.’
